Control Blood Pressure
Posted on July 25th, 2007In majority of cases, there is no clear cause, which can be identified as the main reason for high blood pressure (BP). Patients have been known to have high blood pressure for years without actually knowing it, giving coinage to the term, ‘silent killer’. In a small percentage of people, high blood pressure may be traced to other secondary causes known as secondary hypertension. These include: Kidney abnormality, structural abnormality of the aorta (large blood vessel leaving the heart) existing since birth and arrowing of certain arteries. High blood pressure symptoms may range from severe headache to sweating. Needless to say, doctors are still working to understand the causes of high blood pressure. However obesity and high salt intakes are generally associated with hypertension. In 90 percent to 95 percent of the cases, hypertension has no known cause.
Hypertension is known to affect all age groups, irrespective of the social order. An estimated 10% of the world’s hypertension cases are caused by alcohol abuse. In a recent study, it was concluded that binge-drinkers had even higher blood pressure than people who drank regularly. Other stats found alcohol abuse associated with low diastolic but high systolic pressure. Smoking is known to be a major risk factor. One study reported that smokers have blood pressures up to 10 points higher than nonsmokers. Caffeine causes a temporary increase in blood pressure, which is known to be harmless in people with normal blood pressure. Studies are also suggesting, however, that regular, heavy coffee drinking — around 5 cups per day — can boost blood pressure, and might be harmful to people with hypertension, increasing their risk for stroke. Drinking coffee also increases excretion of calcium, which also may affect blood pressure. RESPeRATE is the only FDA-cleared, non-drug, medical device clinically proven to lower high blood pressure with absolutely no side effects. The device has been known to control high blood pressure.
RESPeRATE makes use of a patented technology to deliver certain kinds of breathing exercises. The exercises need to be performed for a mere 15 minutes a day, 3-4 times a week for lower blood pressure. It has proved an effective, harmless alternative to blood pressure medication, available in drug stores. Not only that RESPeRATE’s therapeutic benefit has been validated in as many as six separate clinical studies, delivering 14/9 mmHg average sustained blood pressure reductions.
